Even if you do put in the effort to hole 25 four-footers in a row, to feel the pressure build on the last few you’re likely to get a sore back picking the ball out of the hole. It was while attempting such a drill that the PuttOut’s inventor decided something had to change. After hours analysing how golf balls drop into the hole, product design expert Martin Riddiford decided a parabolic ramp -which could return putts to you and take the strain out of bending over – was the perfect solution. It didn’t take him long to realise its design would also filter and reject missed putts. If you want to work on pace there’s a micro target into which putts will only drop if the speed is spot on, which is really worthwhile as many putting trainers “catch” any speed of putt, which is not replicated on the course.
